For her personally, Powers said the program has boosted her confidence in her writing and also inspired her to attend summer writing classes and write more in her free time. Though the Fort Wayne Museum of Art became a part of the competition just 15 years ago, and has consistently ranked in the top 10 for national awards given to its regional Scholastic participants. With growing medical, environmental and social issues facing us all, it is essential that the next generation of communicators be prepared to help people make sense of emerging science that affects their personal health and well-being, as well as that of the world around them.
The topic and detailed instructions for the contest are posted in the fall with a deadline for submissions early the following year. I am proud to say I am writer. I write on this blog, I write stories for myself, I write lesson plans and papers for school, and I even write for some publications like the one featured above in this month's issue of SchoolArts Magazine.
